Lee’s Lilly Pilly (2024) This beautiful bicolor dahlia has a base of magenta. When white tipping absorbs most of the petal color, you get one cool customer. The photos you see were taken in July- a few days after the summer solstice and temps were up there for the mountains. The FD form flowers are 4” across and the plants are 4.5-5’ tall with loads of long stemmed flowers. Lilly Pilly has handles long, hotter days like a champ for me.

Bicolor type dahlias always show variability, fluctuating with growing conditions like day length as well as day & night time temperatures. The degree of white tipping will fluctuate and this is normal.
