Dahlia Lee’s Tailspin
Dahlia Lee’s Tailspin
Lee’s Tailspin (2024) This semi-cactus formed sprite of a flower is a favorite! The flowers max out at 4 inches but the ‘tail’ on this spinner as well as the newer layers of petals have enough negative space to give the impression of a smaller flower. Dark, nearly black stems are long, thin and strong, allowing for bounce and movement in bouquets and vase arrangements, and as demonstrated in the photos here, the petal display can vary in their show of soft orange, white, peach and pale blush.
Bicolor type dahlias always show variability, fluctuating with growing conditions like day length as well as day & nighttime temperatures. The degree of white tipping will fluctuate and this is normal.
